This Privacy Policy explains how Caspar Baumeister ("Reflory", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Reflory mobile application (the "App"). Reflory is a private parenting reflection tool intended for adults (18+). It is not directed at children.
Account information. When you create an account we process a Firebase user identifier, and — if you sign in with Apple, Google, or email — your email address and basic authentication tokens. You may start using the App with an anonymous account before signing up.
Content you provide. This includes:
Automatically collected information. With your consent where required, we collect basic usage analytics and crash diagnostics to keep the App stable. We do not send transcript content or sensitive child details to analytics.
We rely on your consent and on our legitimate interest in operating and improving a service you have chosen to use, and on performing our contract with you.
When you record audio, it is uploaded securely and sent to our AI provider to produce a text transcript. Immediately after transcription, the raw audio file is deleted from our servers. We retain only the transcript, which you can view, edit, or delete.
Reflections, follow-up questions, and summaries are generated using the Google Gemini API. The relevant transcript and a compact, curated child-context summary are sent to this provider to produce the reflection. AI output can be inaccurate, and any perspective offered about a child is a hypothesis, not a diagnosis or professional advice.
Data may be processed on servers located in the United States. Where you are in a region with data-transfer protections (such as the EEA or UK), transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards.
Within the App you can edit child information, delete individual reflections, delete a child profile, and delete your account and request full deletion of your data.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, or restrict processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, use the in-app controls or contact us at caspar.baumeister.privat@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
We do not use your family data (transcripts, child profiles, reflections) to train AI models unless you explicitly opt in. You can withdraw this consent at any time in Settings.
Reflory is designed for parents and caregivers and is intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly allow children to create accounts. Information you enter about a child is provided by you, the adult account holder.
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport, authenticated access, per-user data isolation in Firestore, and App Check to protect against abuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Reflory is a reflection tool, not a medical, psychological, or emergency service. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional care. If you or a child may be in danger, contact local emergency services immediately.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
